Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Courses
General Course Information

Course Goal: To improve pediatric patient survival by emphasizing integration of basic life support CPR with pediatric advanced life support techniques and effective team dynamics. 

Audience: Healthcare professionals who respond to emergencies in children and infants. This includes physicians, nurses, EMTs, emergency room and ICU staff and others who require PALS course completion for workplace duties. 

Content: Child and infant CPR / AED. Case based presentation of respiratory emergencies, rhythm disturbances, shock, and vascular access. Systematic approach to pediatric assessment and effective team communication.

Certification: A course completion card is issued upon successful course completion.

PALS Provider Initial Course (Classroom - Based Format)

  • "Practice While Watching" skills teaching with Instructor & video in a classroom setting.

  • Skills practice, skills testing, and written exam with Instructor in classroom setting

  • Offers group interaction and feedback from an Instructor. Beneficial for initial students.

PALS Provider Renewal Course (Classroom - Based Format)

  • "Practice While Watching" skills teaching with Instructor & video in a classroom setting.

  • Skills practice, skills testing, and written exam with Instructor in classroom setting.

  • Ideal for learners who prefer group interaction and feedback from an Instructor while learning skills.

PALS Provider Course (Blended Learning Format)

  • Content taught in three parts.

  • PALS Heartcode Part 1: Module - based skills teaching and written exam completed by student online with printable certificate of completion (Part 1).

  • Skills practice (Part 2) and testing (Part 3) with Instructor in classroom setting.

  • Ideal for learners seeking a schedule – friendly alternative to traditional classroom instruction.  Not recommended for students seeking initial certification or renewal of expired certifications. â€‹
