AHA Instructors Empower Communities and Save Lives!

Thank you for your interest in becoming an American Heart Association Instructor.

AHA ECC Instructors empower communities and save lives!

The steps for becoming an AHA ECC Instructor are listed below:

1. Have current AHA Provider status in the discipline for that Instructor Course and be proficient in all the skills of that discipline. Disciplines include ACLS, BLS, and PALS.

If your AHA Provider Status is not current, please visit our FASTRACK REGISTRATION page to register for one of our upcoming AHA Provider courses.

2. Be aligned with an AHA Training Center.

AHA Instructor Candidates must have an AHA Training Center that has agreed to accept them as an Instructor once they have completed the Instructor Essentials course and their Instructor Monitoring is successfully completed. Only Instructors aligned with an AHA Training Center are authorized to teach AHA courses and issue AHA course completion cards.

3. Successfully complete the discipline-specific AHA Instructor Essentials Course.

If you are interested in one of our upcoming AHA Instructor Essentials courses, please complete the form below. You may be invited to register for one of our upcoming AHA Instructor Essentials courses pending approval and availability.

4. Be successfully monitored teaching your first course within six months of completing the discipline-specific classroom Instructor Course.
